ITALIAN ARTISANS ITINERARIES

Artisans and their traditions of Florence are at the heart of Florence and it's history. To discover the genuine and finest of Florence's craftsmen we'll take you to the “Oltrano”, the historical centre on the other side of the Arno river. Here the artisans continue to work using traditional methods passed down though the generations, making by hand everything from silk to silver, paper, leather, pottery and tailor-made shoes. You'll come across bronze workers, wood carvers, frame guilders, wrought-iron workshops, marbled papers, hard stone mosaics, and intarsia, all being produced in the “bottega” (workshops) on every corner of the small piazzas and down the labyrinth of ancient lanes.
With so many workshops in the area, we have focused with particular attention, on those who maintain a good balance between quality and price.
