This tour is made for those who want to learn about one of the most famous wines of Tuscany: Chianti Classico.
Chianti Classico is produced in the Chianti region, a broad hilly area between Florence and Siena, this red wine has become respected and well known all over the world.
The tour starts in the morning and will concern the visit to of some of the hilltop medieval villages of the area while driving along roads which seem to cut the Chianti vineyards.
This tour would be incomplete without offering our visitors the opportunity to savour the basic of the very popular Tuscan Cuisine. You will be escorted to a restaurant, selected by us among the best restaurants, where will be served a delicious meal while sipping the excellent wine and enjoying the awesome view of the Chianti countryside.
The second part of the tour will take you to one of the most prestigious wine estates in this region where you will visit the ancient wine cellars. To keep in the theme of our Chianti tour, the estate will offer a tasting of their local Chianti wine. We have designed different itineraries in the Florentine and Siennese areas, ask for more information.
TUSCAN EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL TOUR
An interesting travel through the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil world. This tour is made for those of you who want to learn about one of the most famous extra virgin olive oil in Italy. You’ll be driven directly in the Chianti region, a broad hilly area between Florence and Siena, his Olive Oil has become respected and well known all over the world; you’ll visit a real ancient "frantoio" where the first pressing of the olives took place.
The olives are still picked entirely by hand during a period that may span from November 5th to December 10th, depending on the maturation rate. As soon as they are picked the olives are arranged in crates (similar to those used for fruit) in order to avoid bruising and ensure good air circulation. Within 48 hours after picking the olives are taken in their respective crates to the mill for being immediately processed, when the fruit is still fresh an organoleptically perfect juice (oil) is obtained with the acidity practically nil.

On request, we offer you the opportunity to have a light lunch, to savour the basic of the very popular Tuscan Cuisine.
From the wine to the bottle
A very special day, in the heart of Chianti, with a real wine maker, Lawrence d'Almeida.
Mr d'Almeida is of Franco-American nationality, has studied at Yale and Harvard, and is now the winemaker at a small but promising winery in Greve-in-Chianti. We have tasted their wine and we can assure you that it is exceptional. The program is structured so that you will spend the morning with Lawrence, and you will see what a winemaker's life is like. You will begin by visiting the vineyard and will be lead through the process of wine making from the planting of the vines, through harvest and fermentation, to barrel aging and bottling. Naturally the tour will end with a guided wine tasting of Lawrence's very good wine. At the end of the morning you will have a light lunch in a local Trattoria and taste the typical Tuscan cuisine, after lunch you will visit the town of Greve-in-Chianti and will be back in Florence by 4.30 PM.
