COOKING COURSE IN TUSCAN TRADITIONAL CUISINE AT A CASTLE
The courses are organized for groups that range from minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 people and consist of practical and theoretical lessons given in the kitchen of a wonderful castle where the Farm-House is located, in the surroundings of Florence (20 minutes far). Traditional Tuscan dishes will be prepared, with some little variations to include some of the most typical recipes from other regions in Italy. The courses are held in English or Italian from 10.00 am to 1.00 p.m.; they will be followed by the tasting of the dishes prepared during the lesson and served with our wine in the dining-room of the Castle, a rare example of pure Liberty style décor. The meals will be prepared using the local products of the farm. Every participant will be provided with copies of the recipes of the dishes prepared and tasted during the cooking lessons

A bit of history At 400 meters above sea-level, the imposing tower of the Castle overlooks a lush landscape of olive trees, vineyards and forest, and boasts a 360 degree view over the towns of Impruneta, San Casciano and the valley of Greve in Chianti. The villa's history begins circa 1300, and through the ages has been the residence of a number of noble families and was visited by illustrious people such as Giacomo Puccini, who was a friend of the proprietors.

The ancestors of the current proprietors, the Barony of Benci, not only have enriched the villa with important frescoes, but have also turned the export of local produce into a quality practice. During the 1920's, the Bencis exported great shipments of Chianti wine to America, and had offices in the heart of Manhattan. Today, Baron Benci exports one of the best extra-virgin olive oils of the territory, and has received the honours of the C.O.I. (The International Oil Counsel) as a master of olive oil production.

Our cooking teachers aren't all professional cooks. Some of them are Florentine ladies who like to cook and love to share their passion with travellers. Classes are held in private charming houses. The menu is every time tailored to client needs and tastes, food allergies or restrictions. Our cookery lessons are real "food experiences", a complete overview on Tuscan culinary traditions, from culture to experience. Our cookers always use fresh ingredients.
